The 2023 EDGA Team Championships were held at the Lawrence Park Golf Club on Monday July 17th. There was play in three different divisions, Championship, Seniors, and Super Seniors using the Chapman Format.

In the Championship division a 4-hole playoff was needed when Isaiah and Lydia Swan finished the round tied with Mike Wolfe and Tyler Cozad at 6-under par. The Swans would prevail and claim the title leaving Wolfe-Cozad as runners up. Dave Spitzer & Matt Passqualiqua, Dustin Coleman & Abe Holmes and defending champions Jon Merriott & Bobby Scalise tied for third with a score of 5-under par 67. Two-time champs Ted Grassi, III & Mike Garcia ended knotted with 2023 EDGA Match Play champion Ryan Ferry and his partner Michael Wareham with scores of 68.

On the net side, the Spitzer/Passqualinqua team claimed the title in a scorecard playoff with Merriott/Scalise. Both teams finished with net scores of 64.

The top 5 in both gross and net earned prizes which are available in the Lawrence Park GC pro shop.

In the Seniors division, 2021 champions Ron Coleman & Danny Achille found there way back to the top, closing with a birdie on the final hole for 68 to best the team of Dave Martin & Mark Trigilio by one shot. Defending champions Rick Carlotti & David Hewett finished 3rd with 70.

Mark Noce & Chris Komora captured the net title with a score of 7-under par 65. Ellery Tarbell & Doug Fugate were the runners-up with 67 followed by Steph Urban & Guy Santone and Steve Schilling & Mike Vereb who closed with 68.

In the Super Seniors the teams of Dario Cipriani & Jack Gornall and Chip Shamburg & Jim Spoden completed the 18 hole round with identical 71’s. Cipriani/Gornall prevailed in a playoff leaving Shamburg/Spoden to take home the net prize. Only one prize in gross and one in net were awarded in the Super Seniors division.
