Paced by individual medalist Ellery Tarbell, and four other scores of 76 or under, Lake View Country Club has captured the 2012 Interclub Championship held Sunday May 20th, at Downing Golf Course in Harborcreek. Tarbell, a four-time EDGA Amateur Champion, set the standard for the day with a 3-under par 69. Also scoring for LVCC were Dave Hewett (5th – 73), Scott Simonsen (T6th – 74), Ron Coleman (T8th – 75) and Jay Honard (T13th – 76). Lake View’s seven over score of 367 outdistanced runner-up, Lawrence Park Golf Club, who finished with a 5 player team score of 378. Lawrence Park was led by Bob Paris’ 74. Green Meadows Golf Course placed third at 381.

Individually, behind Tarbell, Green Meadows’ Tyler Kozad and Downing’s Corey Smith tied for 2nd with twin, 2-under par 70s and Culbertson Hills’s Geoff Hirz posted an even par 72 in picture perfect conditions at Downing.

Members of the top three placing teams may pick up their gift certificates at the Downing proshop.

It took 3 extra holes before the Streeter Cup could be claimed. David First and David Hewett were tied with Ron Coleman and Rick Federici with scores of 6-under par 66. Federici forced the playoff with a 20 footer for birdie on the 18th hole. The first two holes in the playoff were tied with pars before a birdie 4 on the 3rd hole by Hewett ended the playoff. Hewett and First have also captured 3 EDGA Better Ball titles. This is their first Senior Better Ball championship.

Bob Paris and Jim McKibben finished 3rd with 67. Jim Keller and Dave Reichard captured the Net title with a score of 60. During the competition Dario Cipriani recorded an ACE on the Park’s 9th hole, playing at 155 yards. He used a 6 iron. The hole played into a very strong wind.
